FAQs

What does SB22-224 mean?

  •  Starting January 1, 2025, ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) agencies must collect identifying information and medical history from gamete (sperm/egg) donors. They must make a good-faith effort to update this information by contacting donors at least once every three years.
  • Information Disclosure to Offspring – Once a donor-conceived person (DCP) turns 18 (or is legally emancipated), they can request and receive their donor’s identifying and medical information. Donors must agree to this disclosure if their gametes are used.
  • Record Keeping – ART agencies must securely store donor information and maintain records permanently. They must have a plan in place to handle records in case of closure or bankruptcy. If an ART agency shuts down, it must inform all affected donors and recipient families.

How long do the records need to be kept?

The short answer is - forever. There's no minimum time stated in the Act, so we will keep them forever!

How secure is your storage?

We have the safest, most secure server and multiple back up servers money can buy. We also have a very detailed, established server to ensure everything is organized appropriately.

How often do these records need to be updated?

Per SB22-224, it is the ART agencies, or IVF clinics responsibility to keep and update the records with new personal medical information, personal information, and any family medical information. We take on that responsibility when you decide to store your records with us. We pledge to keep a secure, safe, and updated version of any and all donor records.
